Installation of Network in School
Vibrant Networks were appointed to deliver a large scale Wi‑Fi and cyber security project for AES Adult Education Services, as part of a new education facility in West Bromwich, West Midlands.
Working alongside a blue chip construction company, our team successfully designed and installed 180 Cisco Meraki Wi‑Fi access points, delivering full wireless coverage across the entire site.
The Challenge
The project involved both infrastructure delivery and strict cyber security compliance, all within a one week deadline. Key requirements included:
- Achieving Cyber Essentials certification
- Completing a full security audit of servers, laptops and PCs
- Producing compliant cyber security policies
- Supporting a large, complex education network
- Delivering all outcomes within 7 days
The Process
Our engineers carried out a comprehensive evaluation of the organisation’s IT environment, successfully assessing a network of 2,500 devices, including:
- 40 servers
- Two enterprise grade SonicWall firewalls
- 250 staff devices
- 2,000 student laptops and desktops
Alongside the technical audit, Vibrant Networks authored the required Cyber Security policies, ensuring the organisation met all Cyber Essentials criteria while maintaining operational continuity.
The Value
As a direct result of the project:
- The college successfully achieved Cyber Essentials certification
- Senior Leadership and the IT Manager were supported throughout the process
- The organisation was able to secure a £5 million education tender
- A secure, scalable IT and Wi‑Fi infrastructure was delivered to support long term growth
