PC Upgrade for a Computer Classroom
Our education client needed an affordable, energy efficient way to upgrade older Pcs to
Windows 11 computers.
Windows 11 computers.
The Challenge
A school based in Walsall required 33 PCs and laptops upgrading for their schools classrooms and computer lab. They also had 40 existing devices which were Windows 11 Compatible that required the operating system upgrading to Windows 11 Pro.
With Microsoft dropping support to Windows 10 this October, the school needed to make sure their machines were Windows 11 compatible.
This was a huge problem with Windows 10 End of Life on the horizon! Without replacement machines, the school would not be able to upgrade, and would therefore miss out on all free security patches and updates once Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 10 in October 2025.

The Process
The team at Vibrant networks supplied 35 Grade A Refurbished Lenovo M920q PCs, with 26 being installed in the school's computer lab, and 7 being installed in classrooms across the rest of the school.
We also upgraded 40 existing laptops, PCs and Microsoft Surfaces up to Windows 11, allowing them to access the latest upgrades Microsoft made for Windows 11 users.
We considered the school's ESG goals and the goals to lower their carbon emissions by supplying and installing refurbished energy saving grade A Lenovo PCs and new monitors. This not only lowered carbon emissions, but also gave a second life to PCs that had already have been used. Each refurbished device saves 213kg of CO2 emissions compared to a new one. (*tier1, 2024)
The school saved approximately 639kg in carbon emission by utilising grade A refurbished equipment.
the average PC consumes or takes 325KG of carbon emissions to create, therefore they using the circular economy to repurpose older corporate PCs and give them a second life we managed to save them 11, 375Kg of carbon emissions.

The school now benefits from modern, up to date computers that are updated to Windows 11. Their energy bills are lower thanks to our energy efficient laptops and screens, and no longer have to worry about Windows 10 End of Life.
We not only reduced carbion foot print fo rthe school we also save space in the classroom, making it clutter free and more space for teh student to do their work as well as making the PCs more secure by mounting them behind the screens so student cannot tamper with them.
