PC Upgrade for a Computer Classroom
Our education client needed an affordable, energy efficient way to upgrade older PCs to Windows 11 computers
The Challenge
A school in Walsall needed to upgrade 33 classroom PCs and laptops, alongside 40 existing Windows 11 ready devices, ahead of Microsoft Windows 10 End of Life (October 2025).
Without action, the school faced increased cyber security risk, loss of critical updates, and potential compliance issues. They also needed a solution that aligned with budget constraints, ESG goals, and limited classroom space.

The Process
Vibrant Networks supplied and installed 35 Grade A refurbished Lenovo M920q PCs, with 26 deployed in their computer lab and 7 installed across teaching classrooms.
In addition, we upgraded 40 existing laptops, PCs, and Microsoft Surface devices to Windows 11 Pro, ensuring full compatibility, security patching, and long term support.
To support the school’s sustainability objectives, we specified energy efficient refurbished hardware, extending device lifecycles and significantly reducing environmental impact. Each refurbished PC saved 213kg of CO₂ compared to purchasing new (Tier1, 2024).

The Result
The school now benefits from a fully Windows 11‑ready computer classroom, with:
- Secure, future proofed devices
- Lower energy consumption and running costs
- Improved classroom layout with space saving, rear mounted PCs
- Reduced risk of tampering and cable damage
This project not only improved cyber security and performance, but also delivered a cleaner, safer learning environment while supporting the school’s carbon‑reduction goals.
